How does llms.txt help local service businesses get recommended by AI engines?

An llms.txt file can offer a readable index of a local service business's public pages; it does not make AI engines recommend that business. PressGEO exposes public page indexes and feeds, including its read-only MCP setup, as ways to locate already-public information. Business facts still need sources and owner confirmation, and AI engines decide what to retrieve and cite. Adding an index, submitting a URL or recording a crawler visit is not proof of indexing or citation. Measure actual answers to buyer questions separately. A hosted PressGEO newsroom can provide public reference pages without changes to the business's website code.
